Josco Construction Services, Inc.
JOSCO Construction Services, Inc. is a fully equipped utility contractor. Our company was founded by Jennifer Wirtz in 2012, with a vision and a four-man directional boring crew. Today, JOSCO has grown from four to over fifty employees. JOSCO operates a total of eleven directional boring crews, four trench crews and three manhole crews, with the capability of placing bare cable and multiple HDPE pipes in all soil conditions. In addition, JOSCO operates four aerial communication crews, capable of coax and fiber installation.
JOSCO is proud to be certified as a women’s business enterprise by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the nation’s largest third-party certifier of the businesses owned and operated by women in the U.S. JOSCO is a signatory with I.B.E.W. Local 196. We are fully licensed and bonded to do business in the State of Illinois and the State of Indiana.
During the first year of operation, JOSCO became a subcontractor within the telecommunication networks in Detroit, Michigan. By our second year in business, JOSCO became a Tier 1 contractor in Illinois, being awarded the opportunity to bid on various projects to perform HDD and electrical services throughout the Chicago metropolitan area.
In 2014 and 2015, JOSCO won various fiber contracts, designating JOSCO as the prime contractor of several territories within Illinois. Our responsibilities included pre-construction meetings, locating and potholing utilities, setting handholes and manholes, electrical and restoration services. Also in 2015, JOSCO became a Tier 2 subcontractor with the local power company. JOSCO designated five crews to perform HDD services, operating in URD work.
In addition to maintaining our ongoing work in telecommunications and power, JOSCO has been awarded 24-hour emergency work in Illinois and fiber placement in Indiana.
Safety has always been JOSCO’s main focus. We have an outstanding safety program in place, led by a Safety Director who stays abreast of all federal, state and OSHA regulations. JOSCO was awarded an Outstanding Safety Performance Award in 2015.
JOSCO is a family-oriented company with dedicated employees whose purpose is to serve our clients. As our field presence has grown, so has our staff. We currently employ several field and project managers, each averaging 10 to 15 years of experience, as well as a fully staffed office. Our dedicated employees are our biggest asset.
Since our humble beginning in 2012, JOSCO has strived to consistently exceed the expectations of our customers. We will continue to do whatever it takes to fulfill our commitments, safely and efficiently. JOSCO is constantly developing new relationships and strengthening current ones. We take pride in our workmanship and we intend to do so for many years to come!
